Conference Code of Conduct

All attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers at our conference are required to agree with the following code of conduct. We are setting these expectations for all participants to help ensure an inclusive and enjoyable environment for everybody.

It is a Christian value to treat others with respect and hospitality, giving due regard for their inherent worth in God’s eyes, so our conference should be a place of welcoming for everyone, regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, or religion (or lack thereof). That value is what each participant should show. Although this is a conference primarily for those identifying themselves as Christian, attendees and speakers from different faiths or who do not identify with any particular faith should likewise exhibit respect and consideration for the Christian faith and its adherents.

To ensure our conference remains a welcoming place, and to avoid any appearance or presence of harassment of conference participants in any form, we ask that all participants in the conference avoid sexual language, imagery and topics, avoid coarse language, avoid scene subjects that would exhibit harassing, demeaning, or hateful behavior or attitudes, and the like. Basically, be a nice grown-up and treat others as we ourselves would like our dearest, sweetest grandmother to be treated. She always has cookies for us, so she has earned the right to see us on our best behavior.

Any violation of these values and expectations may result in being asked to leave the conference without a refund or compensation. This has not been an issue in the past, and shouldn’t be going forward – but in the interest of being communicative and preserving the positive, almost family-type atmosphere that has been present in all prior conferences, these are the expectations for participating in the Christian Improv Comedy Conference.

If you have any questions regarding this Code of Conduct, please direct them to the conference organizers at info@christianimprovcomedy.com.
